Provide consulting services and engineering assistance to SMBs and MSPs in the local market.  Designed and implemented scalable, secure, fault tolerant mail system utilizing Zimbra as core service offering for hosted services to SMBs, MSPs, and other wholesale clients.  Design and implement advanced monitoring solutions leveraging Zenoss as a registered Partner.

Systems/Network Engineer, Wispnet/SinglePipe, Lexington, KY, March 2005 – July 2008    
Designed and implemented voicemail system and endpoint provisioning system used as back office services for VOIP.  Configured and managed Layer 2/3 switches, routers, load balancers, security policies, firewall rules, and network services involved in hosting managed modem and VOIP services.  Designed systems to automate NOC responsibilities such as management of wholesale services, monitoring, and alerting.  Designed and maintained secure, scalable, and highly available services such as DNS, HTTP, FTP, POP, SMTP, LMTP, SIP and RADIUS utilizing LDAP, and MySQL for directory services.  Lowered TCO by leveraging Open Source software.  

Operations Network Administrator, Insight, Lexington, KY, April 2001 – March 2005    
Utilized the Cable Modem Termination System to troubleshoot advanced cable modem connectivity and network security issues.  Established network performance and services monitoring via SNMP utilizing CACTI and MRTG as frontends.  Managed  handheld wireless devices and maintained WAN/LAN/VPN connections and client systems for database access to ICOMS AS/400.  Managed Intranet web content and database applications.

ResNet Technical Advisor / Trainer, UK, Lexington, KY, August 1999 - April 2001
Coordinated with Insight Communications and NEMOC to identify and resolve problems beyond ResNet responsibilities.  Developed processes, trained and supervised new employees at the beginning of Spring / Fall Semesters.  Diagnosed and repaired advanced PC problems prohibiting network connectivity for students and faculty

So it's been awhile since I've actively used crosscut.org for anything other than email and development testing.  After finally embracing the social sites of myspace, facebook, linkedin, last.fm, etc, I thought a good way to use crosscut.org would be to aggregate everything to one place so here goes.  Now... to blog, or not to blog...
